A webcam video recorder for MacOSX
Create a sequence of quicktime movies from a webcam. Using iVCR is easy, just enter the URL of the webcam image and click "Record". iVCR will start making a series of quicktime movies.
A 640x480 image recorded one frame per second will use about 5.8Gb per day. With hard disk sizes above 100Gb this will give you days and days of video capture. |

iVCR will work with most dedicated webcams across the internet or on your local area network.
It works with the full range of AXIS video servers and network cameras. iVCR will even record from a number of cameras at once. |

To setup a local video surveillance system all you need is an AXIS 2100 network camera and iVCR.
Known webcams - just copy the full URL into an iVCR window to view the webcam image http://213.229.27.127/jpg/fullsize.jpg --- some town in Austria |
Type the following URL into the iVCR window
http://ADDRESS/cgi-bin/fullsize.jpg?camera=3&clock=on
Where ADDRESS is the IP Address of your video server
This will display an image 320 x 240 from camera 3 with the clock displayed in a bar across the top of the image
http://ADDRESS/cgi-bin/hugesize.jpg?camera=2&clock=off
Where ADDRESS is the IP Address of your video server
This will display an image 640 x 480 from camera 2 with no clock displayed in a bar across the top of the image
The above URL's are just examples, you can of course select any image size from any camera with or without the clock
This has been tested on newer axis video servers. If it does not work read your axis manual to find out how to access the current image from the server. iVCR works by accessing the current image over and over. It does not work with the mjpg files also available in axis video servers.
iVCR does not support axis servers that have passwords enabled. You have to turn passwords off for iVCR to work
If you have an older axis 2400 server and the above does not work try the following URL.
http://ADDRESS/axis-cgi/jpg/image.cgi?camera=1
Type the following URL into the iVCR window
http://ADDRESS/axis-cgi/jpg/image.cgi
This will display an image 640 x 480 from the camera
